I’ve been wanting to try one of the lotion candles for quiet some time. I think the concept is very intriguing. A lotion candle isn’t like a regular wax candle. It’s a combination of low melt point wax, luscious massage oils, and creamy natural butters. It’s basically a lotion bar in a candle form. A wick is used to heat the candle just to the point of melting so it can be poured.
I tried out one of the travel size lotion candles made by Scandle. The travel size candle comes in a square tin with a silicone band around it which you can take off and wear as a bracelet. The candle I tried was scented in Warm Vanilla Sugar which smells heavenly. The candle has a shimmering mica mixed in to give your skin a little bit of sparkle. After letting the candle burn for a few minutes –which is very pretty to watch hubby and I tested it out by pouring it on the tops of our hands. It wasn’t as hot as one might think – it’s warm but doesn’t burn. It feels really good rubbing it into your skin.
Originally I indicated the ingredients were not on the product however I see now they are listed on the back label and I simply overlooked them. The ingredients are listed as soy butter, shea butter, jojoba, vitamin E, mica, titanium dioxide, and fragrance.
